Class Description

Want to work more in Vancouver’s robust commercial filming industry? Let’s get after it! Industry veteran Ryan Cowie invites you to a bootcamp-style class. What does that mean? We’re going to buckle down and put in reps on many different scripts, not trying to get them ‘right’, but instead making strong choices and delivering fun, engaging, and authentic auditions. No push-ups necessary, but you never know! This 4-week Commercial Audition class is designed to provide a weekly workspace to help you achieve more successful commercial auditions in a fun and informative environment. By exploring many different commercial scripts and audition breakdowns, you will learn how to prepare for both self-tape and in-person auditions, how to interpret copy, implement acting tools for the audition, and what you need to do during your callback session. You will participate
in on-camera mock auditions, callback role-play, and will watch footage of your work with supportive analysis of the results. Throughout the exploration of the scripts, we will discuss the business of auditioning for commercials, what happens when you book a job, contracts, set etiquette, and more.
